Update : bigger boss and some fire shot !
Surprise entry ! I' not massively happy with this one but i hope it brings some memories !
Hmmm, the smoke trail is actually from a missile shot by the boss, not from the arwing It's completly clear for me... but it seems nobody sees it lol... i will see how i can do that better.
update : I tried to disconnect the smoke trail and the arwing but i don't know if it's enough.
Nostalgia is a powerful thing and can be re-written as "memory pain" but in my opinion, not this time.
Everything about this piece resonates within me. This is an accurate, realistic and exciting depiction of my favourite game of all time. Not only does it bring back fond memories but it also inspires a possible re-imagining of the original game.
From an artistic point of view the colours of the scene work excellently with the terrain. The atmospheric haze really gives a sense of distance and allows an otherwise simple mountain range the depth it needs to look good without being distracting.
The use of the forest is a clever re-imagining of the original games flat green ground and again with the lighting and colour looks great.
The arwings and the boss are rendered in enough detail to look realistic but their shape is true to the original game which is something I particular appreciate.
The special effects used are top notch, especially in the engine trials from the arwings. They really add a sense of motion to the ships which is only reinforced by the motion blur added throughout the scene. However the motion blur is a little too strong in places. The background dogfight would look somewhat better in my opinion if more detail wasn't lost to the motion blur.
In closing this piece is technically and visually impressive and I would love to see more Starwing re-imaginings in future.
Being a beloved fan of the StarWing(fox) series, i was personally amazed about this piece of work. Orioto seems to have the 'game-make-over' technique mastered, and it's no exception with this one.
Though this might be for some, a not amazing piece, for me it captures the vibrant look of Starwing in an instant. This could even be Starfox in 'HD'; the sky looks clearer, and the ground has such amazing details for shoot 'em up, you'd wish this was real and in production.
The tail-smoke on the spaceship makes it even more realistic game footage, and the far distance mountains add for that extra detail you wish you had in the SNES version. Though it might not be the most original work in Orioto's gallery, this is the one that has the most impact, seeing the dynamics, colouring and the nostalgic charmisma it has, wishing you had this back in the days.
Great work, the only nitpick is that it's over an ocen of grain instead of an ocean of water but that's still probably the best art of that battle I've ever seen. (Even over grains, this is an epic and wonderful battle scene.)
There were a lot of hoaxes, April fool’s pranks and several other practical jokes that Google played on their more "gullible" users! The most funny Google Jokes: [link]
Ahhh, I remember this! I probably haven't thought about this since the last time I played it. Oh wow. Nostalgia. Also, did you paint those trees or is it a photo manip? (I will die if you do Echo or Crash Bandicoot. I will die.)
