The level of detail in this otherwise simple scene is quite incredible, makes for a very charming drawing. It's pretty complex in its appeal, humorous but also nostalgic, cute and relaxing yet nonetheless adventurous, etc etc. Looking forward to more such drawings.
This picture encapsulates everything I still hope to see from video games. All the promise and believability of 3D worlds combined with the scope and focus of 2D direction. I love it, love it, love it, and want to play vidya games that look like this!
I like the perspective of the pillers, (the blur effect on the one in the foreground is a nice touch) and really good job on the lava effects, colors, and splashes. Also I like your character designs for Super Mario, and Iggy Koopa. (My favorite of the Koopalings. Maybe 'cause he wears glasses.) Very awesome work, it looks almost 3Dish it's so well drawn.
Only critique is, I noticed Iggy has a wand like he does in SMB3 (and NewSMBWii) wich he didn't in SMW where this battle takes place. Was that done on purpose to homage both the SMB3 & SMW Iggy Koopa battles?
I loved that boss battle, (one of my fav's in that game) y'know, it's kinda gruesome when you consider how Mario defeats some of his enemies by nocking them into lava. (Who says Mario games arn't violent?)
Hey Orioto ! I'm a big fan of yours I'm from Bruxelles and went to that expo. I've been very surprised when I discovered there was one of your creations !! A shop was selling that picture (+ glass frame) at the expo, I hope they sold lot, you deserve it !
