You know i'm developing a game called Swimming Under Clouds with Piece of Pie Studios, and we need some hands!
We're looking for a talented (meaning experienced), motivated level designer (Speaking about gameplay here) to join us for the next 4+ months. Munich or Paris-based preferred.
This is of course a paid job.

August, resting a bit, having fun with the canon...

Apart from that, i'm still waiting to continue the discussion with IGN about how tings will be going at the fall. Still waiting for Cave Story to be release in Europe and my art to be shown. August is a slow month i guess ! But i think i'll be doing some new videogame wallpapers soon.

Hi everyone !

Just a little hello.

You'll see my last game wallpaper soon hopefully, and i hope i'll go back to that in September. We'll see with IGN. And i'll be open to commission from indy developpers soon. Not for game graphics yet, but for wallpapers. That means some publicity for a (relatively speaking) little game, you'll see an exemple of that real soon.

Hey guys,

Just a little journal to tell you i didn't stop my videogames art lol, even if i must tell i'm not as motivated as before. I'm like that, i play with a new toy some month (years) then i have to do something else ! But in this case, i'm working on my game and that takes a lot of time, and some work for the living in the same time.... And of course my need to make movies grows again and again !

Anyway, there is a new art for a mysterious game that i cannot reveal right now, cause it's an "official" art for a soon to be released game. You'll see it soon i hope.

I will continue to do art games, but less often, obviously ! My ultimate goal would be to find a way to mix my game passion and my movie making need. It will come hopefully !

What's up ??

As you can see i changed my avatar, to begin some viral marketing for my game, obviously ! It's the sprite of the game by the way, just a little smaller for the avatar.

The game is going smoothly now, and you can be prepared for some real old school platormer, no puzzle time-warp-thing gimmick there. Just dexterity, exploration of multi-path levels and fun !

About my art, i've had less time obviously but i hope i will be back with something soon. At least, you'll have the Castle of Illustion art today i guess.

I don't even know what will be the next one !

Hi everyone.

Just passing to say i'm working on a Space Harrier piece right now, but people who follow me on twitter already know that for some days, and they'll eventually see some wip at some point

I'm also working on Swimming Under Cloud of course, and the game is shaping really nicely ! Expect something really old school and modern in the same time.

In other news, i'm working on a new Goobox (on facebook) game. After the huge success (more than 4 millions users) that have been Elementz, we're trying to do something with the same kind of charm.

Finally, for the French :  Je serai à le fête de l'animation de Lille le Dimanche 21 Mars, où seront exposés 6 ou 7 de mes travaux plus anciens (Night Thought, Majin Vegeta etc...). Avis aux intéressés ! L'expo se déroule du 19 au 21.



Also, to explain the little "santa's sock" that appeared at the bottom of the journal. Well, you all know fanart are not allow to be sold on this site, so i give to everyone free high rez version for them to print it. But, many people told me they wanted to pay in some way to thx me for that. Now, those who wants can do it via Paypal They doesn't even have to be paypal members for that. But it's REALLY only for people who want to.

So, the situation with ARC evolved, as they finally contacted me.

It seems all this is only matter of little confusion and communication problems. They told me they will put the art back, with the credit it deserves this time. There are sometimes little problem of coordination between different society when working on such a website.

I did some noise cause there was no contact, but now that they contacted me, everything is right as it should have been in the first place.

Communication is the key !

Hi brothers and sisters !

So, here is a little story about how editors can go wrong and have so little manners regarding to their fan. I didn't want to make noise about that at first, but they handle my case like a bunch of ass and it's worth and worse, so fuck it.

ARC Europe organized a contest on the cool gaming board NeoGAF ([link]. The goal is to ask artists there to do a boxart for the european release of BlazeBlue. They stipulate that the entries can be used on some form of promotional thing, or in the manual of the game. Ok, no problem with that!

I finish 4th in the contest, with my two portrait entry, that you can see in my gallery. I discover later that they did an European official site. It has the RadiantDreamer (the winner) cool art on the first page, ok. Then it has one of my art on the second page, as total layout to the page, AND my second entry on the third page, as background and base to the level design to.

So they didn't put some of the runners up on the site to be cool, no, they clearly designed 70% of their site with my art cause they thought it was cool for their product. It's cool for me you must think, some sort of recognition.

Only problem is that they never contacted me to do so, to just... tell me, or even ask me for some advice on how to crop (and they broke one of the picture by the way) the picture or design the page with my art. Better, they didn't credit me, my name or anything on the site. So no little mail, thx, credit, contact..Nothing at all.

At this point i wasn't so pissed, and i reacted on the Neogaf board on a cool tone. I was just saying that it wasn't really cool of them to do things like that, and a little weird... But the simple fact of crediting me on the site would have obviously fix the error really simply.

Except they didn't do that. They removed my art from the site, without having credited me at any point, then, they added RadiantDreamer's credit under the site, as they should have done since the beginning with me. I was just asking for some gesture from them. I wasn't asking for money or anything, i was asking for some logical and simple manners and respect of my work, that they used massively cause they thought it was good for their game.

In all this story, i never had the least mail from them, just a pm to tell me they "should have tell me that they were using the art in first place" and that they were about to remove them now... The fact that RadiantDreamer, who won the contest, has been commissioned to do an other art (cause the one GAF voted for was not what ARC wanted for, lol), and in direct contact with their team, just make the thing a little more bitter to me.

I have nothing to ask anymore now, and basically, i've been "punished" cause i asked for credit by having my work completely removed. People will say i bitch and whine and etc, but i finally tell that cause well... they don't want to acknowledge me or speak directly to me. They are absolutely not professional in any way, nor even.. human and polite, or simply nice. I just wanted to make this public. It's not that big of a deal, and there are certainly more dramatic things going right now in the world, but i can't just shut my mouth and act like it never happened.

A simple mail to tell me "sorry, we used your art cause it was cool on the site and we will credit you or find something to value your work" would have fix everything really simply. But here i'm treated like a piece of shit.

delicate matter !

Hi everyone,

So i have a lot of mail asking me about buying the original paintings, as in canvas painting. Of course, i have to disappointed them by telling them there is no such a thing, as i work digitally.

But a friend told me about some eventual way to give this opportunity a go. I could do a limited (like 10) number of numbered ans signed copy of a work, on a high quality material. Maybe even a canvas print. That would be a private sell obviously, nothing standardized.

What would you think about that ?? Some people interested ?

Some answers to your questions:

For the price, it would depend on what the print and shipping cost me, then i guess, depending on the number i print (it could even be one and only copy), i would make an ebay bid. It seems the better way to decide who would have it and how much he would like to pay for it.

It will also depends on the size of it. What size would you like in your living room ??

It can't be some printing sites as redbubble cause it would be an industrial sell. it has to stay a private and individual sell.



So, for a try, i put a first one on ebay. It's the Toxic Planet one, wich would be printed on a fine grain 90x51 canvas. That's my first time doing that so i'm not sure yet on how make that well, but it's a try. There will be 5 of this one, no more. Each one will be numbered and signed. I only put one on ebay for now cause i don't know if there are people interested yet. Let's see. And let people know around you. After that i know people will continue asking me for that but it will be too late lol.

The game, wich you know the story now, will be unveiled next week with a trailer, if everything is going well.
We now have an artist for the intro of the game, several tutorial levels, a musical direction... It will be really artistic and original i hope.

Hi everyone,

So as some of you already knows, i'm working on a game right now, and we need a good name for it. So i will ask you for some advice with a poll !

it's the occasion for me to tell you the story i'm writing for it.
The game is the story of a little girl, Chloe, who's lonely with their parents, living in a house surrounded by nature. Her only friend is a little fish and she imagine a lot of adventure and mysterious stories with him. Unfortunately, when the parents decide to move for the big city, the aquarium break and the fish dies... The girl is left alone and afraid of a new town, but behind here, as she leaves her house in her parent's car, the dead fish mysteriously awake from the ground to float in a bubble of water. A weird journey begins for him, on Chloe's path...

So, this is a really poetic and melancholic game, not really casual or childish. The story is about a little girl growing and accepting to discover the world, metaphorically. (Think some Burton work or Miyazaki's) So we need a title that avoids the game being associate with some NDS shovelware lol ! This mean the title must be really arty and abstract.

deviant is kind of dead those times for me. I red somewhere that a lot of people have turn their back to the site. It's true that people evolve and also that i based my popularity here on Naruto fanart, so many have probably lost interest in me !! So i wonder, on my 16,000+ watchers, how many will read this journal^^ It seems i do some 1000 or 2000 views for a new picture in first days (without the external links), so i guess watchers aren't there anymore or not interested ! Anyway i'm not complaining at tall actually, but rather wondering if it's a global phenomena !

As for some news, well i just did a Metroid piece for IGN Insider. That's my third one and it's a lot more dark and realistic than the two first. By the way if some vg sites are reading this, i'm open to other commission for site exclusives ! It can be good for you

Thx you for all the comments on my last journal with my tablet problems. It seems the little bamboo work again... I don't know what went wrong !

Anyway, i'm actually working on some Worms art for IGN Insider. Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have seen some wip of it. I hope it will be really good, and my most dynamic piece to date !

And the game i'm working on with a programmer is going well to. I did have some bocking and questioning after a time, cause it's actually a real first to me to do entire landscapes on a game, directly with a game engine, multiple scrolling and all that... Plus this is an original game and i have to decide of a mood, a graphic style AND respect big gameplay confines That and i see a lot of 2D games arriving on downloadable platform, so i got some pressure. It HAS to be above the lot, artistically wise and gameplay wise ! We've got a big ambition on this !
